Prayer Tent at Farmer's Market February 2                                                                                                           The Prayer Tent will be up and celebrating Groundhog Day (and taking prayer requests of passers by) on Thursday night, February 2.  Please be a part of the team serving that evening.  Sign up on the Communication Card or contact the Church Office.

"Believe Out Loud", February 11                                                                                                                             Join fellow United Methodists of other Central Coast cluster churches to learn how we can be a fully inclusive church for all of God's children:  gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight.  The Reconciling Ministries Network is conducting a training event onusing public narrative to create change in the national UMC.  This training will take place here, in the Wesley Building, next Saturday, from 9:30-1:30pm.  If you have questions, contact Jason Takagi.

Tables for Eight                                                                                                                                                              It is time to regroup for 2012 for Tables for Eight.  These groups try to meet quarterly and can be held in homes, parks, beaches, melodrama, or restaurants.  It is an excellent opportunity to know your church family better. You can sign up as singles, couples, or families.  Jan Wilson will have the sign up sheet through the end of January - questions, please call the church office.

Beacon Art Show, March 3--April 8, 2012                                                                                                                    
As a community service for the arts SLOUMC is hosting the Beacon Art Show (BAS) in the Methodist Activity Center (MAC). Docents are needed for answering questions and to facilitate purchases of art.  During the art show there will also be special events at UMC. BAS will be open and docents needed for those times. They are noted on the Sign up List. You may volunteer as many hours as you wish. If you would like to docent with a friend,  please invite them to orientation. Thank you for being of service to the arts in the community. Orientation of docents date and time will be announced later. An all church e-mail will go out later with more details. If you do not have e-mail and want to be a docent please get in touch with Judi Carlyle.
