Dear Parents,

Children who will be in the first through sixth grades in Fall 2009 are invited to attend the United Methodist Church Elementary Summer Camp at Camp Arroyo Grande.  Camp dates are Sunday, July 19 - Wednesday, July 22, 2009.  Children from United Methodist Churches all over the Central Coast will be attending.

Click here for the camp info letter.

Camp Arroyo Grande is perfect for elementary-aged children:  First, the camp is only in  Arroyo Grande, so there is no long drive to get there or back.  Second, the camp is just three nights long -- not quite enough time to get homesick.   Third, the camp provides a nice balance between fun activities and learning about God and Faith.  Lastly, the camp will be staffed with some familiar faces from our church, including appearances by our own Claire Grether and Pastor Jane.  My own kids have gone for the last two years and are very excited about going again this year.  They can’t wait to swim, hike, make new friends and, of course, roast marshmallows around a campfire.
The following registration forms are due back to the church office by May 31.

1)Health Form

2)Registration Form

However, we will be taking a Special Offering to help parents afford to send their kids to camp and we may be doing some fundraising so we won’t know the final amount to remit for each child until all that’s done.   Payment will be due at a later date.

Please contact me with any questions or to sign up.  Your child is free to invite friends to attend Summer Camp, too.  Please pass this information along to anyone who is interested.

I’m looking forward to a great camp experience for all!

Sincerely,

Denine Hicks
