Beacon Resurrection Celebration
Easter through Mother’s Day

The San Luis Obispo United Methodist Church is hosting the Beacon Resurrection Celebration to commemorate the opening of its new sanctuary building.  A multitude of religious and secular events will run from Easter through Mother's Day.  All events during the Beacon Resurrection Celebration are open to the public.  Performances have been planned for many area choruses and bell choirs.  A commemorative commissioned musical piece will be premiered and a gospel brunch will be presented.  A theatrical recreation of John Wesley will be featured as well as readings by visiting authors and poets.  A comedy of the Bible class will be lead by Pastor Jane.  Cal Poly and UMC organist Paul Woodring will be featured in concert and a large group of Cal Poly dancers will also perform in early May.  Concerts by the SLO County Band, the SLO Wind Orchestra and various praise bands are also scheduled.  (see below)
